
Whether you have one game on a single platform or a catalog of games spread across multiple platforms, it's always valuable to know how many players are actively playing without having to stitch together data from various platform dashboards (if that data is even available at all).
What if you could go beyond just knowing how many players are online? What if you could understand what they're actually doing in-game? Are they sitting idle in the main menu? Browsing the in-game store? Deep in a gameplay session?
We've heard this request from countless developers and publishers, so we built a solution. Today, we're excited to introduce Presence, a new feature in LootLocker that lets you see your game come alive in real time.

Presence gives you instant insight into:
Statuses are completely customizable when you implement LootLocker's Presence into your game. You can define statuses like "Main Menu", "In Match", "Paused", "In Store", or "Level 3", and even attach metadata for additional context.
With this data, LootLocker builds a timeline for every player's session, showing how long they spend in each state.

At an aggregated level, this helps you understand player behavior and identify bottlenecks: are players spending too long in menus, or dropping off at a specific level?
And at an individual level, your support team can use Presence data to quickly diagnose what a player was doing if they reach out for help.
Presence is available in two tiers: Basic Presence and Rich Presence. Basic Presence reports when players are online and actively playing your game, providing accurate CCU and session duration data across platforms with minimal implementation effort.
Rich Presence builds on this foundation by allowing you to define and report custom in-game states such as menus, gameplay, levels, or modes. This unlocks detailed session timelines and deeper insight into how players move through your game, making it particularly useful for analyzing player behavior and supporting customer service workflows.
Basic Presence is included at no additional cost for all LootLocker users. Rich Presence requires a paid subscription and has additional costs associated with it. If you're interested in enabling Rich Presence, please reach out to learn more.
A few weeks ago, we launched Insights, giving every game a simple way to access meaningful player metrics directly from the dashboard. Now that Presence data is flowing through the platform, Insights just got even better.
We've added two new visualizations powered by Presence.
See how long players spend in your game on average, using accurate session data rather than estimates or platform-reported numbers.

View a live map of where your players are currently connected from, including total CCU and a breakdown of which countries your active players are in. These additions make Insights an even clearer window into how players engage with your game, in real time and over time.

Basic and Rich Presence are available today with Unity support, just update your Unity SDK and follow the Presence documentation to get started. Support for the Unreal SDK will be rolled out next month.
